Like any other competitive sport that involves physical contact (like American football, rugby, basketball or ice hockey) the sport soccer has its own share of fights and accidents. Maybe it is because of the sport itself involves aggressive tactics in which makes it more exciting. Also the level of passion of the soccer players by its fans and the players will to win also contributes a lot. Soccer chants and the shouts of insults produced by the fans and the crowds encourage the players to do the most unsportsmanlike conduct. The mocks and insults fuel the anger that breeds in most of the soccer players by which will most of the time results into soccer fights.
Some of the soccer fights often occur after soccer matches these soccer fights is called soccer hooliganism. Some of these soccer fights are clashes between fans, although most of the time these soccer fights are started by organized gangs that support rival soccer clubs. Most of these soccer fights are in England which is popularly known as the “English Disease”. These so called English Disease or soccer fights are transpired by the some English soccer fanatics traveling abroad supporting their favorite soccer team or teams.
Although not only are the English involved in these kinds of sport related fights. In almost every part of the globe where soccer is a major game soccer fights occur. These soccer fights ranges from small scuffles to tragedies to accidents. In these parts of the globe, special units in their police force are formed just to avoid these kind of situations. However disruptions and fights are still unavoidable.
Although it is not common that soccer fights and violence happen between players, it is also unavoidable in them. With all the kicking in the soccer field unintentional kicks or bumps are hard to avoid. And with the player’s whole hearted effort in winning, loosing their control on their temper is very much likely to happen. Soccer fight do not only happen to fans against fans or soccer players against players or soccer players against referees, fights also happen between fans against players or fans against referee. There was one incident that a fan threw a flare on a player, more specifically the goalkeeper of “A.C. Milan” known as “Dida”. “Nelson Jesus da Silva” or also known as “Dida”, was injured and suffered first degree burns on his shoulder and was unable to continue the game.
This type of behavior on a sport game is very much unsportsmanlike; players and fans should always keep their temper and remain cool. Losing one’s temper can destroy the fun and excitement of the game, by which will eventually lead to a fight or an accident or even worse like what happened on one soccer game wherein the wall of the soccer stadium collapsed because the fans were in a riot.
